Helen Mia Harris. BA (Hons), PGdip, BACP Registered.

 

 

I have had many years training in dealing with trauma, loss/bereavement, jealousy and abandonment. I began by studying the work of C.G Jung at the Thomas Aquinas Academy in Sydney, Australia.

Later qualifying as a Relationship/Marriage Counsellor and a Grief and Bereavement Counsellor, where I ran a private practice for six years.

After spending eighteen months studying at the C.G.Jung institute in Switzerland I worked as an Existential Therapist for sixteen years, gaining a wide range of experience working as a Loss/bereavement counsellor in prisons, hospices, medical centres and alternative therapy centres. Including working in a Naturopathic Hospice where complementary medicine, nutrition, massage and creative writing/story telling was an essential part of the therapy and care.

 
 

 
 

Between 2004 and 2007 I worked at Guy’s hospital working with patients suffering from Depression, Anxiety and Trauma as a Psychotherapist and spent three years as a palliative care worker for the Marie Curie Centre in Surrey.

In 2007 I studied at the Tavistock and Portman NHS trust Researching ‘The Couple Relationship’ I followed this by a further research study on ‘Trauma and its Aftermath’ in 2008.

 
 

 
 

I am presently at the Sevenoaks Integrated Health Centre, where I practice Individual Counselling, Couple Relationship Therapy and work with Grief and Bereavement..

A particular interest is working with clients suffering from ‘Matters of the Heart’ dealing with all the issues involved in the breakdown of a relationship. Including rejection/abandonment, Co-dependency, jealously and betrayal. Love and loss.

I have also led many women’s groups in creative writing as a therapeutic art.

I am BACP registered and adhere to BACP guidelines.
